Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH): Promoting the health and well-being of Alabamians with mental illnesses, developmental disabilities and substance use disorders.
Alabama Office of Peer Programs: Promotes recovery by coordinating the department’s support for peer operated programs, training and educational programs.
Mental Health Initiatives:
Individual Placement and Support: Evidence-based service model aimed to assist people with serious mental illness (SMI), to include co-occurring substance use disorders, in obtaining and maintaining competitive jobs based upon their preferences.
Mental Health America of Etowah County: Promoting mental health awareness and treatment of mental illness through advocacy, education, support, and referral.
Mental health America in Montgomery: Promote mental health as a critical part of overall wellness, including prevention services for all; early identification and intervention for those at risk; and integrated care, services, and supports for those who need them, with recovery as the goal.
NAMI Alabama: Comprised of local support and advocacy groups throughout the state dedicated to improving the quality of life for persons with a mental illness in Alabama.
