Camp AMIGOS (Awesomely Made In God's Own Spirit) is a ministry of Shoal Creek Baptist Church. It is a day camp for children with special needs.
Ministering to Children & Teens with Special Needs

Camp AMIGOS is a day camp ministry of Shoal Creek Baptist Church for children with special needs beginning at 3 years old. This day camp not only provides children with special needs a place to play and have a fun time, but also gives the parents a time to relax and complete tasks that can be difficult while caring for their child. Our day camps occur four times a year. We plan weeks in advance for our camps and look forward to ministering to our families with special needs children. Our volunteers are excited to spend time with the campers. Each camper has their very own AMIGO for the day. The AMIGO helps the camper with all the fun activities, and most importantly, makes sure our campers are happy and safe.
A typical camp day includes a puppet show, arts & crafts, snack time, outside/inside games, lunch and lots of love! Some of our themes have include: “Run the Race” (Heb 12:1), “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands,” “Jonah and the Whale,” and “Jesus is Our King” (Ps 47:77). Our spring day camp is usually a special field trip. In the past, we have met at Pump It Up and P’Zazz Art Studio. We also hava a volunteer nurse onsite during our camps.
Camp AMIGOS also has its own group during Shoal Creek’s VBS week. We participate in most of the activities that everyone else does, but we tailor some activities to meet the needs of our campers. As always, our most important goal is the safety and well-being of our campers, to make sure they have a good time, and to share God’s love.
